Childhood
April 20, 2008 by Christine
I’m very immature (that’s what my Mom would call it) I prefer to say I’m young at heart. I’m like a 12 year old girl trapped in an adult body. I can’t fight who I’am. I’m not trying to be something I’m not. this is who I’am. Some women dress way too young for their age and that’s not what I’m talking about. (I’m not one of them by the way.) It’s my interests and my mannerisms I guess.
My favorite part of the day is first thing in the morning while I’m drinking coffee, that’s my creative time. That’s when I blog and journal. I love checking out my facebook and myspace pages. I work on art and I have to have bubble gum as I work. I started drawing while I chewed gum back when I was a kid.
Most 40 year olds are reading the News online or in the paper, not me. I Most 40 year old women wear lipstick or gloss, not me, I wear lip smacker (strawberry kiwi)
Most People my age like classic rock, country or easy listening. I know I’m generalizing, I’m sure there are many different tastes in music. I love alternative brittish music. I did not even realize this until yesterday when I was on itunes and there was a iMix of all the UK bands and they were all my favorite bands. My son and I actually trade notes on what we are listening to. We don’t like all the same music, but I’d say most.
I work with a few high school girls and I really can relate to them. We talk a lot , it seems like they think of me as a big sister. When I go out with friends my own age they are talking about remodeling or domestic things and I just find that so boring!
A certain item, song or smell trigger thoughts of my childhood. I had such a good childhood (before the teen years) that I hold those memories close. Maybe that’s why my interests lay in things of my past.

I feel that way sometimes… That I just hold on to the special memories…Nothing wrong with expressing yourself the way you do… You’re still a fully functional adult. If u said that you don’t work bc u stay home to play with ur barbies… Then yeah, that would b a problem.

I admire the fact that you can keep things fresh and still enjoy the simple pleasures..if more people would do that then there’d be a lot less cranky and burned out people in this world… ![]()
I think I’m a lot like you in the way that I feel like I’m a young girl sometimes trapped in a 50 year old body. I’m not sure I’d want to be any different. I feel sometimes it might help me stay in a younger frame of mind longer. I loved seeing those “old time” things. I had forgotten about Ziggy. I LOVED him. Great post.
